The ladle is made of honeycomb red copper using the dovetail technology in the Belgian city of Dinant. The ladle has a tapered brass handle with a hanging ring, securely attached to the body of the ladle with three copper rivets. A ring of steel wire is rolled into the edge of the bucket, which provides protection against deformation of the bucket and contributes to its durability. The internal working surface of the ladle is covered with tin. In the old days, such ladles were intended for heating beer, ale and rum.
